Griefcraft & Sovereignty: A Eulogy for Your 2025 Selves
Before we cross the threshold into a new year, I want to invite you to pause with me in the dark.
Remember, the darkness does not have to be a scary place.
Witch Wisdom: In the dark/unknown/void lies undiscovered gifts.
I want to go with you into the honest darkness of self-reflection.
The places within you that were forged and carved out this year through portals of endurance, grief, effort, resistance, devotion, missteps, and courage that no one else witnessed. But that’s ok, because you can take the time to consciously witness them yourself. It is YOUR gaze that is the most important, after all.
I invite you to use a little Death Magic and eulogize what has already lived, died, and transformed within you.
We talk so often about intention-setting, future-casting, becoming...MANIFESTING (ugh, we’re always manifesting...so exhausting),
But before rebirth, there is death. And the magic available to us in the portal of grief is best accessed with the tool of acknowledgment. Acknowledging what you’ve experienced and taking inventory of what the life adventures of 2025 meant to you is a powerful way to keep perspective of your progress/resilience/capacity for more growth.
Death Magic as remembrance:
We spend so much time and energy focusing on who/what we want to be and how we want to improve...everything! I love that drive and ambition for us. But we often can’t see how far we’ve come or how much we’ve really accomplished if we don’t honor ourselves through self-reflection.
I want you to honor the versions of you who:
- Fought battles that didn’t end the way you hoped
- Made choices with the information and capacity you had at the time
- Were misunderstood, judged, or left carrying weight alone
- Are tender, still guarded, still learning how to trust again
It’s time to welcome them home.
Here is the truth I want to anchor us in:You are already whole.
What we call “healing” is not the act of becoming something new —it is the act of integrating what has already been true.
When we ritualize reflection, when we consciously grieve and bless what has passed, we are not fixing ourselves. We are remembering ourselves.
Through this lens, Death Magic becomes a practice of sovereignty that reclaims your energy and powers you up for all the exciting journeys ahead.
Cast this spell: I see what lived through me. I honor its role. I release what no longer needs to be carried. And I claim my wholeness more fully.
I’ve created a short (12 mins), guided ritual you can do with me — a eulogy for the year and for the selves who walked you through it. It’s slow, grounded, and intentionally intimate. Nothing to perform. Nothing to perfect.

If you feel a sense of settling afterward that is wholeness being embodied.
With reverence for all that you have been and all that you already are,
