Dance With the Dead

Welcome back, Brujx.

Damn! We made the most of Halloween 2026!

A quick recap:

We played with fear.

We talked about grief without dedicating ourselves to unnecessary suffering.

We gave love somewhere to go.

We practiced being in relationship with the Dead without abandoning discernment, boundaries, or our own authority.

The cherry on top, the reward for all our work was the Death Witch Dance Party last week.

Every year is the BEST year! Every year the right people show up. It was a global, digital affair with a lot of intimacy. People showed up to be in the experience and that was exactly what happened. We didn’t speak much. We did  dedicate our energies to being weird, silly, devilish, wild and pop-princess hot.

Embodying-Halloween-magic-in-community mission accomplished folks! Muchisimas gracias ;)

October (and the beginning of November too for some of us) gives us a deliciously explicit and communal container for Death Magic. But our relationship with the Dead does not belong to October. The relationships continue throughout the year on a daily basis. Just like your life does and all the movement in it, happening daily, moving us forward.

I do not want Death Magic to make you more preoccupied with dying.

I want to enrich the awareness of your aliveness. I want to spark an ambition within you to live your life with more intention and power. Maybe becoming more intimate with mortality makes you tell someone you love them, stop postponing something you deeply want, or you become clearer about which relationships deserve your precious time.

Death does not have to rush you into some frantic LIFE IS SHORT!!! panic.

Touching base with Death as a reminder that this existence is not forever can help return you to the practice of presence.

Witch Wisdom: A relationship with Death should return you more fully to Life.

So, I ask:

How has becoming more honest about Death changed your relationship with being alive?

My video is about 2 minutes long. It’s a special Halloween message, of course :)

I swear I'll get better at the thumbnails.

Keep talking to your Dead. Ask for guidance when you want it. Bring them into celebrations. Maintain your boundaries.

Live your fucking life.

With you in the dark,

Mel, The Body Witch
